FarmVille, the farm simulation game that left its mark on the Facebook platform, is officially closed. The developer of the game Zynga announced that FarmVille; which was introduced to users 11 years ago, will be completely closed on December 31, 2020.
FarmVille, which was once the first example that comes to mind when talking about Facebook and games, is unplugged. According to the official statement from Zynga, the developer of the farm simulation game FarmVille; the 11-year-old FarmVille game will be closed at the end of this year as Adobe will end the distribution and update of Flash Player.
Loss of support for Adobe Flash Player
It was wondered how the Adobe Flash Player based game would be played with the loss of support for Flash Player. Instead of switching the game to another format, Zynga will unplug FarmVille on December 31, 2020, probably because it is no longer popular.
Zynga, who proved himself in the game, appeared with FarmVille 2: Tropic Escape for 11 years. After December 31, 2020, players will be able to continue playing the second game of the series. Zynga gave the good news that the third of his popular game will also be released. However, the new games of the series, unfortunately, did not attract as much attention as the classic game.
We will say goodbye to many games with the end of the support of Adobe Flash Player. It will no longer be possible to play the games of our flash-based childhood. Probably, a method will be developed to stop and play flash games in the internet archive. However, we may have to wait a long time for this.
It is not yet known what path Zynga will follow for other Adobe Flash Player-based games. According to the statement from the company; An event will be held next November to bid farewell to FarmVille. The innovations that will take place at the event will be announced soon.
The following statements were used in the statement made by Zynga regarding the issue:
“After an incredible 11 years since its initial launch in 2009. We are officially announcing the shutdown of the original game on Facebook. As stated earlier, Adobe will stop distributing and updating Flash Player for all web browsers and Facebook will cease to support Flash games on the platform after December 31, 2020. FarmVille will also be directly affected as a result of this. “
‘CONSUME YOUR REMAINING FARMVILLE CREDITS’
Before the game is retired, in-app purchases will continue until November 17; after which the game’s payment system will be completely shut down. In the statement made by Zynga, “Game will continue to be playable until December 31, 2020 and will be closed at this point. The remaining credits you have in this period must be used before December 31, 2020 ”warning was also made.
After FarmVille is shut down, they will be able to continue playing FarmVille 2: Tropic Escape or the upcoming FarmVille 3.
