According to her, poor sleep is considered one of the common symptoms of a depressive disorder. In this state, people wake up very early, for example at 4-5 in the morning, and can no longer fall asleep, although they feel overwhelmed and tired. In addition, loss of appetite, constant pessimism, and unwarranted guilt are also signs of depression.
“Feeling of worthlessness, helplessness, low self-esteem. It is difficult to concentrate and make decisions. In severe forms, thoughts of suicide appear. Decreased libido and loss of interest in sex,” the psychologist lists the symptoms of a depressive disorder.
The specialist noted that relatives of a person suffering from depression often cannot independently determine the severity of the condition, believing that he is simply lazy.
“The major issue is that, it happens on the internal level not on physical lebel. We can see someone super fit but broken from inside. Its the case of feeling, emotions, hormones. Internally felt like severe stress. There are so many stress hormones, as if the rink had moved a person. Therefore, people have no strength for anything”, the psychologist emphasized.
It is believed that the development of depression is largely influenced by the genetic predisposition to the disease. However, it is not only this circumstance that is decisive but other factors as well. Including the temperament and mental properties of the person himself, as well as the events that happened to him in childhood.
